Los Angeles, CA- In a major boost to her grassroots campaign, Barri Worth Girvan has earned the endorsement of SEIU Local 721, one of Southern California’s most influential labor unions, representing over 100,000 public service workers.“Barri Worth Girvan is the kind of leader our communities need—principled, pragmatic, and deeply committed to equity,” said David Green, President of SEIU 721. “She understands that public workers are the heartbeat of Los Angeles, and she’s ready to fight for the services and dignity they deserve. We know Barri brings the experience and values our City needs as our next Los Angeles City Councilmember. SEIU 721 is proud to endorse Barri Worth Girvan, an outstanding local leader for L.A. City Council.”Barri Worth Girvan, a longtime champion for the West San Fernando Valley and a steadfast advocate for public safety, infrastructure, housing, and improved city services, called the endorsement a powerful affirmation of her campaign’s core commitments. “SEIU 721 members keep our city running—from sanitation and street services to public health and family support. I am honored to stand with our city workers in building a more just, livable Los Angeles,” said Worth Girvan.
This is a significant labor union endorsement for the campaign as Worth Girvan continues to gain momentum in Council District 3, where voters are demanding bold solutions to housing, infrastructure, and safety challenges.
